The responsibility:

We source traditionally harvested white matcha teas grown at an altitude of over 6,500 feet overlooking Kenya's Great Rift Valley. The tea is vigorously tested for purity and is naturally pesticide free. None of our tea is sourced from Japan.

Esteemed around the world for its purity and health-enhancing properties, Japanese green tea has become contaminated with radiation, as fallout from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant continues to blight Japan’s agricultural heartlands, authorities first revealed in 2011.
Authorities admitted for the first time that green tea from Japan’s biggest tea-growing area, the Shizuoka prefecture, contains radiation higher than the officially-permitted level.
